Searching for Black owned wedding vendors that serve the
Lowcountry area? Look no further!

Let me tell you about chloe & eldren's dreamy, culture filled, Lowcountry micro wedding

When Chloe and Eldren invited me to shoot their culture filled wedding in Beaufort, SC I immediately felt the weight and honor in being there to serve them and their families. They invited me in! I remember Chloe telling me how she immediately knew she wanted to book me as her photographer and that when searching for a black photographer in Charleston she didn’t have a lot of true results come through.

Chloe works for an organization that highlights black inclusivity, and she wanted that same mission to be a part of her wedding day experience. Listen, if you don’t understand why some people choose to search for black vendors and why it’s important to support BIPOC businesses you will find that this blog will not seek to convince you of such. I need you to do that work on your own love. This blog is a spotlight and a beacon of light for underrepresented businesses and for brides and grooms searching for BIPOC business owners in the Charleston area.

A few more details on Chloe & Eldren’s culture filled wedding day…

In our consultation call Chloe explained to me how important it was to weave her black roots and culture into the fabric of their wedding day. I watched their DJ lead guests in several cultural line dance, play songs that resonated with the bride’s (and her father’s) historically black, Greek organizations (he even had that thick comforting Gullah Geechee accent we know and love here in the Lowcountry). Their family’s cultures we’re beautifully infused in every detail of their wedding from the soul food catering, to the sweet grass baskets attached to the arch included in their ceremony, and the hype vibes playing through the speakers all throughout their reception. It was family reunion/Sunday dinner vibes on an elevated level. By the end of the night, we we’re all hugging each other, telling stories, dancing together, and taking selfies. I even had the most amazing dinner break with a few of the other vendors.
