1. how would you describe your style?

I shoot from a storytelling perspective. complimented by a golden, richly toned editing style! I honor all skin tones and strive to edit all shades of melanin to look beautifully highlighted!

2. what is your booking process?

Booking your wedding or elopement with me is easy! I will NOT add stress to your planning process. Hang back and relax while I take notes and send you a detailed follow up email after our no pressure laid back consultation call! Simply fill out the inquiry form on this page or reach out to me through email (info@lavondadownard.com). I'll guide you through the process, discuss your vision, and how I can add convenience and ease to your day!

3. why do your prices say starting at?

Listen let's call it like it is! Hidden fees are sooo dishonest and overrated! I don't do that here! I believe in price transparency! The phrase "starting at" simply lets you know that you're more than welcome to add on to any of your packages or services. So, to put it simply, the price is the price and the only thing that'll make it go up is your choice!

4. how far do you travel?

If it feels right and we vibe well then I'm already in! Right now, I'm sticking to U.S, Canada, and Europe but never say never. If you're an existing client or we've met before and our vibe is right, no continent is off limits. Except maybe Antarctica because ya girl is always cold so let's not push it. If you're outside of my travel area hit my inbox and shoot your shot! You never know ;-)

5. Do you have a recommended videographer?

Oh do I! Want to add a little video to your wedding photography? I'm your girl!

I offer short, storytelling highlight videos that capture your favorite moments! All the good stuff :-)

And here's the fun part: I’m a hybrid photographer, so I can photograph AND film your wedding day at the same time seamlessly. No extra vendor, no awkward handoff, no worrying about two different people trying to tell the story of your day.

6. we're awkward in front of the camera can you help?

Challenge accepted! This is where communication and consultation come in! I stand by my commitment that there should be no strangers at your wedding. Let's communicate and check in often so I know all those little tips that help you feel comfortable on camera. Plus, I'll send out a questionnaire post booking to get to know you and your style + comfortability better.

7. Can we meet before the session?

Absolutely, if you're Charleston local let's meet up for ice cream or tacos! I also do no-pressure, easy flow consultation calls with all my wedding/elopement clients. I don't want to show up as a stranger. I want us to have inside joke and a clear vision.

8. what if I want to add on a service after i book?

Again, I'm here to make this season of your life easier! Just reach out and let me know which service you'd like to add on, anything from Videography coverage to a bonus newlywed session, and I'll do all the boring contract additions on my end! I'll reach out letting you know all the nitty gritty details and you're all set! Additions with EASE!
